PowerPC 440EP and 440GR evaluation kits are now available. The 64-bit, 533-MHz processor fits on a 5- by 7-in. board. The board has 256 Mbytes of SDRAM, 32 Mbytes of flash, two 10/100 Ethernet ports, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 1.0 ports, a JTAG connector, a trace connector, a single PCI host connector, and the 2.6 Linux kernel in flash memory. The kit includes a development software package from Kozio. The package handles diagnostic and functional test for hardware board bring-up and manufacturing test using kDiagnostics. kMfgTest handles automated embedded manufacturing and functional test while kPOST delivers off-the-shelf Power-On Self-Test (POST). The EV-440EP-KIT-00 costs $750.
