Myrtle Beach, SC- As a result of the recent acquisition of Thomson SA's passive components business, AVX Corp. is expanding its offering of chip capacitors to include chip film products. The film caps are available in standard and non-standard chip sizes and are made using high-temperature metallized polymeric dielectrics, which give the caps an intrinsic elasticity and provide excellent thermal compatibility with all types of pc boards. The caps also exhibit a "self-healing" property that provides a safe open circuit failure mode and overall reliable performance. The new caps have CV ratings from 1 nF/63V to 1 µF/240V in tolerances from ±5%, ±10%.
