Cable Modem D/A Converter Offers Wide Spur-Free Range

Jan. 1, 1999

Meeting specifications for cable modem upstream communication channels, the HI5760 10-bit, 125-Msps D/A converter enhances a cable modem's upstream communication of data, voice and video by providing wide spurious-free dynamic range (73 dBc typical) and low harmonic distortion (76 dBc typical) at 50 Msps and 1-MHz output. This device consumes 165 mW at 5V in full operation and 9.3 mW at 3V in power-down mode. Users can eliminate a bypass capacitor on the COMP2 pin to save cost and board space.
