BGA Adapter Provides ZIF Socket Interconnect For Easy Chip Replacement

Providing a ZIF socket interconnect to a target pc board's BGA pads, the BGA Carrier Adapter is designed to permit easy chip replacement. The adapter is a two-part pluggable interface, the bottom interface being a low-profile SMT emulator foot with male terminal pins extending from a high temperature FR4 substrate interconnected via circuitry to eutectic solder balls. A gold-plated female receptacle on the adapter board allows for interconnection to the SMT emulator foot.
