By combining on-board clock synthesis with operation at any rate from 28 Mbps to 2.5 Gbps, the SY87702L clock/data recovery IC is capable of recovering data from serial streams running at any rate up to OC-48. The device can handle all of the commonly used communications speeds and protocols including OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4, OC-48/STM-16, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ESCON, Fibre Channel, 2X Fibre Channel, and Infiniband, as well as digital video rates outlined in SMPTE 259 and 292.
The device is well suited for transponders and section repeaters, multiplexers, SONET/SDH-based transmission systems, Terabit routers and broadband cross-connects, and fiber optic test equipment. The company's AnyRate CDR provides clock recovery and data re-timing functions, as well as an integrated clock multiplier/synthesis unit to provide continuous system timing. In a 64-pin EP-TQFP package, pricing is $72.00 each/1,000.
