The PIC18FXX2 family of flash microcontrollers (MCUs) feature in-circuit serial programming that allows them to be programmed after being placed on the circuit board. They also support self-programming over the operating voltage range so that users can program the devices in circuit at their operating voltage. Four devices in the family, the PIC18F242, 18F252, 18F442 and 18F452, offer 10 MIPS at 10 MHz and an operating voltage range from 2V to 5.5V. They provide up to 32 KB of self-programmable flash, 1.5 KB of SRAM, and 256 bytes of EEPROM. Also included is a 10-bit a/d converter with up to eight input channels and a C compiler-friendly development environment. Depending on model, prices range from $3.96 to $4.76 each/10,000.
