10-Pin SMT Display Sockets Sport Unique Design

April 1, 2002

Employing what is reported to be a unique block-terminal design that achieves a low profile and ensures secure attachment to the circuit board, a new surface-mount display socket accepts industry standard seven-segment LED displays and is suitable for automated assembly followed by reflow soldering. This socket is typically mounted at the front edge of circuit boards in a card cage so that the display is visible through the front panel. It accepts industry standard LED displays such as KingbrightÕs SA32-21SRWA-4-5, SharpÕs GL9T030 and others. The sockets are available in tubes or on tape-and-reel.
