Multi-Channel A/D VME Card Targeted At High-Frequency Apps

May 1, 2002

Claimed to have twice the performance and four times the number of channels of other VME solutions., the Model 6802 is a 32-channel A/D converter VME board. Included among its many components are programmable gain instrumentation amplifiers and anti-aliasing filters. The new 6U board also features a front panel data port (FPDP) output interface that is said to support a multitude of COTS FPDP peripherals, including D/A converters, digital receivers, memory boards, and G4 PowerPC and C6000 processor boards. The A/D VME board is also said to maintain excellent channel-to-channel phase matching and 24-bit resolution while sampling at rates extending from 1 to 216 kHz. In addition, outputs of up to eight 6802 boards can be combined over a single FPDP cable to deliver a maximum of 256 channels. Data tagging is also available to correlate channel number and sampled data. The VME board costs $7,995. For more information, contact Mario Schiavone at PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ.
