Plug-And-Play, 1V-5V SIP Converters Tout High Efficiency

Sept. 1, 2002
Based on a synchronous, fixed frequency buck topology, the LSN D12 Series non-isolated dc/dc converters have a 10.8V to 13.2V input and a 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2V, 2.5V, 3.3V or 5V output rated at 10A. The single-output converters boast of a 96%

The single-output converters boast of a 96% efficiency for 5VOUT models and come in single-in-line packages (SIPs) configurable for vertical or horizontal mounting, with the former occupying a mere 0.7 in.2 of pc board real estate and the latter extending just 0.34'' above board. The devices can be used as building blocks in on-board power distribution schemes in which isolated 12V buses deliver power to any number of these non-isolated step-down buck regulators. According to the company, the LSN D12 plug-and-play dc/dc converters enable power systems to be configured in minutes and typically require no external components. Other key features of the devices include setpoint accuracy of ±1.25%, noise rating of 30 to 50 mVP-P, line/load regulation of ±0.1%/±0.25% (max.), step response of 100 µs, remote on/off control pin, output sense pin, stable no-load operation, and protection circuitry. Price is $11.90 each/10K. For more details, contact John Levrault at DATEL INC., Mansfield, MA. (800) 233-2765.
