With the goal of increasing networking performance, the PPC G4C is billed as the first conduction-cooled CompactPCI single-board computer (SBC) with dual, PICMG 2.16 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Said to be unique, the board's maximum isolation and data rates are made possible via large, dual-ported memory that ties to the two Ethernet ports. Features include a PowerPC 7457 AltiVec RISC processor operating at 1 GHz, two 64-bit/66-MHz PMC sites, 2 MB of external L3 SBSRAM cache, up to 1 GB of SDRAM, 64 KB of NOVRAM, 128 MB of flash memory, watchdog and real-time operating system timers, and four synchronous/asynchronous RS-232/422 ports.
