Freeing up pc-board real estate by up to 20%, the FMS6143, FMS6145, and FMS6146 family of video filter/drivers also promises to decrease test and design time, reduce external components, and increase image quality in a variety of consumer products.

Freeing up pc-board real estate by up to 20%, the FMS6143, FMS6145, and FMS6146 family of video filter/drivers also promises to decrease test and design time, reduce external components, and increase image quality in a variety of consumer products. For example, the FMS6146 replaces up to 80 parts, and each device improves image quality by replacing discrete components in traditional third-order passive designs. Shared features include an 8-MHz cutoff frequency, 48-dB stopband attenuation, diode clamps, and bias circuitry. Additionally, the devices can drive ac- or dc-coupled single or dual coaxial cable loads, eliminating the need for output coupling capacitors. Prices for the three-channel FMS6143, five-channel FMS6145, and six-channel FMS6146 are $0.50, $0.68, and $0.76 each/1,000, respectively. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (408) 822-2314.
