Adding to the Eclipse II µWatt FPGA family are two new devices, the QL8025 and QL8050. The QL8025 provides 47K logic gates while the QL8050 ups the ante with 64K logic gates. Both devices include embedded dual-port SRAM and extended I/O support that allows the integration of several board-level components via a single chip. A key feature of the FPGAs is low power consumption. According to company, they reduce power consumption up to 50%, in the realm of 50 mW at 100 MHz, when compared to CPLDs with similar densities. Pricing starts at $3.50 each in high volume. QUICKLOGIC CORP., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 990-4000.
