Connector System Improves PCB Routing Density

Composed of 4-pair vertical headers and right-angle receptacles, the AirMax connectors improve pc board routing density as well as multiple Insert Molded Leadframe Assembly (IMLA) counts and spacings. This optimizes board real estate consumption and trace routing in high-speed backplanes. The connectors are designed for maximum protection of the open-field pin structure, with the protective cover on the vertical headers serving as a press-in block. The system uses air as the dielectric between adjacent conductors, providing high signal density, low insertion loss and low crosstalk without the use of costly and space-consuming metal shields. The connectors are scalable to the number of columns, and a number of different module sizes are offered. Also available are 3-pair and 5-pair options, with spacings of 2 mm, 2.5 mm and 3 mm.
