Tailored for defense applications, the Model 4149 fiber to RS-485/-422/-232 interface converter achieves typical operating speeds of 1.5 Mb/s for RS-232-to-fiber conversion and 20 Mb/s for RS-485/-422 to copper. Operating in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, it provides protection circuitry on all receivers and transmitters for both interfaces. The interface includes 3 kVdc of isolation and operates with an input range from 9 to 36 Vdc. Other input ranges are also available. Additional features include user-selectable fiber polarity, dual DB-9 power connectors (board only), and TX, RX, and power indicator LEDs. The converter is available as a board only, Model 4159, with front-mounting brackets. This unit is also available in a desktop package with DIN rail mounting hardware.
