PCIe/104 SBCs Feature Interchangeable QSeven COMs

Feb. 28, 2014
Interchangeable, full-size QSeven computer-on-modules (COMs) plus a highly integrated I/O baseboard populate Diamond Systems’ Quantum PCIe/104 single-board-computers (SBCs).

Interchangeable, full-size QSeven computer-on-modules (COMs) plus a highly integrated I/O baseboard populate Diamond Systems’ Quantum PCIe/104 single-board-computers (SBCs). The processors include the 1-GHz AMD Fusion G-T40E CPU, 1-GHz AMD G-Series eKabini GX-210HA system-on-a-chip (SoC), and ARM A9 i.MX6 single/dual/quad cores up to 1.2 GHz. On-board I/O for the conduction-cooled SBCs ranges from digital I/O and data acquisition with A/D to counter-timers and pulse-width modulators. Standard PC I/O includes five USB 2.0 ports, two RS-232/422/485 ports, one RS-232 port, one Gigabit Ethernet port, one SATA port for the hard drive, a dual-channel 18/24-bit LVDS LCD display, and digital I/O. A bottom-side heat spreader that mounts directly to the baseboard, latching connectors for most of the I/O, and a 6- to 34-V voltage power input girds the SBCs against harsh environments. Operating temperature ranges from ‒40 to +85°C (for most models). I/O expansion support includes PCI-104, PCIe/104, and PCIe/104 I/O modules, as well as a dual-use PCIe MiniCard/mSATA socket. The SBCs run Linux, Windows Embedded Standard 7, and Windows XP.
