PCIe/104 Gets Mini PCIe Expansion Board

PCI Express (PCIe) stacking architectures, which have been around for a while, allow for the addition of new interfaces and platforms. VersaLogic's VL-EPM-P3E PCIe/104 Mini PCIe Carrier Module is a PCIe/104 3-Bank Type 1 stack-down module designed for rugged and industrial applications. Versalogic provides long-term, 10-year-plus availability that can be important for many applications. 

The module includes two independent Mini PCIe sockets. The stack-down specification indicates that it would be mounted below the processor board. Such an arrangement is typical these days as the processor boards often have heatsinks or other thermal management systems on top.

It supports an industrial temperature range from –40 to +85°C and is compliant with MIL-STD-202H specifications for shock and vibration.
