A rocker switch with a built-in high-resolution, programmable OLED display gives designers a choice in terms of actuator type for OLED programmable switches. Based on the company’s OLED SmartSwitch technology, the OLED rocker switch is a monochromatic, multifunctional programmable-display device. User selection is based on menus visible on the display and multiple layers of menus can be easily achieved; this affords engineers a great deal of flexibility with just one device. The benefits include reduced panel space, lower assembly costs, reduced inventory and faster installation time. In addition, the switch is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for use in industrial and medical applications where wipedown is required. Snap-in installation ensures easy, secure mounting and alignment. OLED SmartSwitch rockers can be sequenced or updated in real time via SPI communication. The switch’s circuit is SP3T with three pushbuttons being normally open. The operating temperature range of the OLED rocker is ?20°C to +70°C and the panel cutout is 35.4 mm x 48.6 mm. In addition, they feature a short 14.6-mm behind-panel depth. The electrical and mechanical life is rated at 1 million actuations minimum and the OLED display features a long life of 52,000 hours minimum at 30% illumination. NKK SWITCHES, Scottsdale, AZ.
