The TripleHead/2Go/ Digital Edition is the latest addition to Matrox Graphics' line of Graphics eXpansion Modules (GXMs). The external graphics upgrade device lets users convert a dual-link DVI output into three standard DVI outputs. As such, it supports a stretched desktop of up to 3840 by 1024 (triple 1280 by 1024) across three monitors, allowing an easy multidisplay upgrade path for compatible notebook, desktop, or workstation systems. Users of the TripleHead/2Go/ Digital Edition can also choose to operate in DualHead mode with a combined resolution of up to 3840 by 1200 (dual 1920 by 1200).

With this external upgrade, users can add extra displays to closed, already validated, mission-critical systems without compromising system manufacturers' warranties by changing the originally supplied graphics processing unit. Users can also upgrade laptop computers, computers with no available expansion slots, or desktops with integrated graphics that are limited to one display output. The TripleHead/2Go/ Digital Edition supports Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows XP x64bit operating systems and Mac OS X v10.4. It is also compatible with many professional desktops and notebooks.

Suggested retail price is $329. A compatibility list is posted on the Matrox Web site. For complete details, go to www.matrox.com/graphics/en/cadgis/support/th2go/digital/compatibility.php.
