Housed in a 9.1 mm x 3.4 mm package, the ZHX1810 infrared transceiver measures just 2.75-mm high, making it about one-third thinner than most serial infrared transceivers on the market, including the company's ZHX1010. The component combines an IRED emitter, PIN photodiode detector, digital AC coupled LED driver, and a receiver/decoder in a single package, requiring just three external components.
It operates with a minimum link distance of 1m and supports transmission speeds from 2.4 to 115.2 kb/s. Other features include a -25°C to +85°C operating temperature range and an external metal shield that adds extra RFI/EMI protection and mechanical strength. Price is $2.10 each/50,000.
