For speech-codec developers, the Vocoders Quality Analyzer 2.1 software allows users to automatically check voice quality post processing in a voice coder. Employing a unique speech model and algorithms, the application promises to be one of the easiest and fastest ways to check vocoder quality. According to the company, it provides precise estimations automatically and produces test results close to what CISCO Systems may provide as Mean Opinion Score (MOS0 values for different codecs. The analyzer requests codec frame size and generates a test set of audio data according to the proper frame size. A vocoder loads from the DLL and the program passes the audio signal array together with all parameters into it and the vocoder starts encoding. The application compares the original and decoded signals using an internal audio signal comparison function, after which a window displays the signal similarity coefficient. The demo version of the app is available that allows developers to test their own vocoders, however comparison of two audio files is available only in the full version.
