The world’s leading industrial trade fair, Hannover Messe, in 2023 had an air of optimism, and the event managed to fulfill the expectations of exhibitors and visitors. More than 4,000 exhibitors presented their solutions for a digital, connected, sustainable industry to about 130,000 visitors from around the globe. Highlights of the trade fair included technologies for competitive and climate-neutral industrial production, with core topics on the floor including artificial intelligence, hydrogen solutions, energy management, connected and intelligent production, and the Manufacturing-X data ecosystem.

In a world where manufacturers need to be concerned with climate protection, the industry needs supplier and user technologies that enable CO2-neutral production. Such technological solutions for climate-neutral production were an item of interest, as 43% of event visitors came from abroad to find out how they can make production fit for the future.

Visitors saw displays of high-end industrial products for climate-neutral production, including developing hydrogen technologies, inspiring ideas for connected production processes. In addition, there were solutions for efficient energy management as well as the launch of the new Manufacturing-X data ecosystem, which is intended to enable digital business models for industrial SMEs.

More than 100 political delegations from over 50 nations visited the show as well, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and German Economics Minister Robert Habeck. Representatives of the European Union in Brussels were present, too, in addition to delegations from other parts of Europe as well as Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Japan, China, the USA, and India. This year’s Partner Country, Indonesia, presented itself as a desirable and dynamic location for investment.

In addition to the 130,000 visitors on the exhibition grounds, the fair was able to count another 15,000 registered visitors who participated digitally. Here are a few examples of the solutions presented:

  • Hydrogen Technologies Offer End-to-End Solutions to Decarbonize Various Industries
  • Addressing Automation Issues with Scalable Platforms
  • Improving Risk Mitigation While Optimizing Cybersecurity
  • Smart Electrical Connector Has Active Asset Administration Shell for Digital Twin
  • How AI and Simulation can Enable Digital Transformation
