Mentor Graphics Corp. today announced an agreement with CADD Edge Inc., a distributor of electrical and mechanical design and analysis tools, to provide Mentor Graphics electronic systems design products to customers in the eastern U.S. These Mentor products provide customers with printed circuit board (PCB) design, high-performance analysis, PCB design for manufacturability (DFM) checking, and thermal analysis capabilities. Now customers have access to the capabilities that distinguish the Mentor Graphics portfolio and enable higher design productivity, product quality, and cost and cycle reduction.
This agreement marks a departure from CADD Edge’s three-year relationship with Altium, also a manufacturer of printed circuit board design software. CADD Edge has a proven successful history in selling printed circuit board design tools and solutions into their market. The software tools from Mentor complement CADD Edge’s existing product suite of software and hardware from SolidWorks, Omnify, and Stratasys, and this relationship allows Mentor to broaden its reach in the U.S. market.

Mentor Graphics says it is the market leader in PCB design and analysis tools with more than twice the market share of its closest competitor. Mentor Graphics offerings include PCB systems design products targeted at the full spectrum of organizations from the individual designer, to mid-sized project teams, and large global enterprises.

- Valor design for PCB manufacturing analysis products.
