Autotestcon convenes November 2 in National Harbor, MD. The theme for 2015 is “Increased Mission Effectiveness through Advanced Test & Support Technology.”
In support of this theme, Keysight Technologies announced it will demonstrate signal generation and analysis of custom and standard military, satellite, and communication waveforms and radio signals. Keysight will also show a variety of handheld solutions for engineers involved in the design and deployment of military systems.
Marty Leeke, market development manager, cited some specific products the company will highlight at the show, including a new FieldFox handheld analyzer. “Now there’s a rugged, dependable handheld analyzer designed to deliver precise, lab-grade measurements up to 50-GHz,” he said, noting that it offers more built-in capabilities than similar analyzers, so you can avoid the hassle of carrying multiple instruments. He added, “Plus with easy upgrades and multiple configurations, you’ll be ready to go where no handheld has gone before—today and beyond.”
“In the modular products and solutions form factor, we will feature a variety of PXI and AXIe instruments,” Leeke continued. Keysight’s new radio test solution combines a frequency reference, vector signal generator (VSG), signal analyzer (CXA-m), and a high-performance PC controller in PXI format intended for military radio producers, he explained.
“For satellite, radar, electronic warfare applications including wideband, multi-emitter spectral environment simulation, we will demonstrate our wideband arbitrary waveform generator (M8190A) and wideband multichannel digitizer (M9703A), both in AXIe form factor,” he said. “Rounding out the modular category, we will show our high-frequency vector signal analyzer (VSA) and our new vector network analyzer (VNA) products.”
Leeke continued, “A unique characteristic of all Keysight instruments is that the science used in making measurements is consistent between benchtop, modular, and hand-held instruments. This means users can have confidence that a measurement made with one instrument form factor will correlate with a measurement made using a different instrument form factor. This value translates directly to users being able to make measurement much faster when moving from one instrument type to another.”
Leeke concluded, “The DoD is struggling to have predictable support costs for the life of their programs (10, 20, 30 years). Keysight is providing longer warrantee options and tailored service plans to support the unique needs of the DoD. We will include an overview of several programs aimed directly at supporting the DOD users.”
