MilSource adds to line of board-level ruggedized switches

Feb. 1, 2018

Los Angeles, CA. MilSource today announced the availability of Techaya’s MILTECH 914, a cost-effective, military-grade, managed gigabit Ethernet switch on board (GESoB) that has a compact footprint at just 125 mm x 95 mm x 20 mm, including connectors and hardware.

Building on the MILTECH 919 ruggedized, managed GESoB, the MILTECH 914 expands port density from 8 up to 14 triple-speed (10/100/1000-Mb/s) ports. This switch is suitable for unmanned vehicles, robots, and industrial applications that need to support a variety of networked devices. Advanced network features include static routing, VLANS, traffic prioritization (QoS), bandwidth aggregation, and security at both port and board level.

“The MILTECH 914 is a great solution to connect sensors, targeting systems and compute platforms that must operate in extreme environments while being hyper-sensitive to SWaP-C (size, weight, power and cost) in its design,” said Ronen Isaac, general manager of MilSource, the exclusive distributor of Techaya MILTECH products in the United States. “Some of those applications could include UAVs, UUVs, sensor pods, and industrial machinery.”

With a conformal coating, the MILTECH 914 stands up to extreme vibration and environmental elements while rated to work in temperatures from -45°C to +75°C. It complies to MIL-STD-810F/G/GM when housed in an appropriate enclosure. With next-generation flat cable connectors that lock and screw down and 6- to 19-VDC power, the MILTECH 914 easily mates with other board-level compute platforms and power systems.
