When it comes to artificial intelligence, the situation can be compared to the old story about the blind men and the elephant. Each was convinced that the part of the animal they were holding was the primary aspect, and none of them realized that it was only a part of the total gestalt.

AI is kind of like that — everyone has a different view about its value and how it can best be manifested. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Sakyasingha Dasgupta, the founder and CEO of EdgeCortix, and talk to him about the state of the marketplace and his interpretations of it.

Dr. Dasgupta has been at the forefront of AI development for the past two decades, working with public research institutes as well as leading corporations. EdgeCortix is a company committed to optimizing AI processing at the edge while minimizing power consumption.

Many powerful AI solutions are ineffective in edge scenarios due to excessive power consumption. Thus, the company is focused on specialized AI accelerators for edge computing using a software-driven approach.
