The PWR263S-20 power resistor is specifically engineered to accommodate high-temperature soldering requirements that enable improved automated board assembly. The resistor features a D2PAK surface-mount package, which is well-suited for space-constrained designs that have lead-free soldering temperature requirements and is a drop-in replacement for thick-film resistive products in D2PAK packages. The PWR263S-20 fits a wide range of applications, including industrial automation, telecommunications, lighting controls, heating systems, battery chargers, inverter drives, and general switch-mode power supplies. A low-inductance resistive film is ideal for high-frequency circuits and a high surge capability makes the resistor suitable for applications requiring resistors to discharge capacitive energy. The resistors come in a range of 0.5 O to 130 kO (1% and 5%). They handle 20 W at 25°C and have an inductance of 0.1 µH. The PWR263S-20 is available now at prices ranging from $1.75 to $2.55 in 5000-piece quantities. BOURNS INC., Riverside, CA. (951) 781-5500.
