Introduced as the industry’s most integrated GSM/GPRS phone, the AeroFONE Si4905 uses patent-pending technology that yields a single-chip phone with a power management unit, battery interface, charging circuit, digital and analog basebands, and a quad-band transceiver. The monolithic CMOS IC provides a flexible and scalable platform for entry-level GSM/GPRS handsets without additional co-processors or large software investments. Its system architecture is adaptable to multiple software protocol stacks, operating systems, and application frameworks. Other features include a digitally controlled crystal oscillator and 2 Mb of SRAM. Available in a 12 mm 3 12 mm, RoHS-compliant PBGA package, production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2006.
