Introduced as the industry's first processor-based, comprehensive, channelized DS3/DS1/DS0 access solution, the Eclipse RISC processor supports the requirements of next generation access systems via on-chip intelligence. The processor integrates on-chip an M13 multiplexer that includes a DS3 framer with C-bit functionality, a 28 channel DS1 framer, 28 channel DS1 cross connect, 672 channel DS0 cross connect, concentration, switching and multiplexing, and a MVIO and H.100/H.110 interface. The software interface to the device is a high-level structured API, which is said to significantly reduce application development time. Available in a 27 mm x 27 mm BGA package, the Eclipse RISC processor is priced at $148 each/1,000.
