The ACD2202, a downconverter IC with dual synthesizer, has been engineered to deliver superior performance to a variety of set-top boxes, CATV tuners, video, and cable modem products. The IC leverages both GaAs and CMOS technology to offer a unique combination of features. And it facilitates the design of double-conversion tuners by integrating an LNA, a balanced mixer, the active circuits for a local oscillator, and a dual synthesizer into a single surface-mount package. Requiring a single 5V supply, the ACD2202 provides 10 dB of conversion gain, an 8 dB noise figure, and a local oscillator phase noise of 90 dBc/Hz (at a 10KHz offset). Typical total power consumption is 600 mW. Specifically designed to support 256 QAM digital formats, the ACD2202 meets the requirements for CATV/TV/video and cable modem data applications. Housed in a 28-pin SSOP, the device costs $2.25 each/10,000. Samples are available. ANADIGICS INC., Warren, NJ. (908) 668-5000.
