Module Adds Internal Antennas To Mini-PCI Cards

Part of the TrueNet family of WLAN internal antennas, the new DualNet MPCI module is designed to provide drop-in connectivity for Mini-PCI cards. Operating on the 2.400 to 2.485 GHz and 5.150 to 5.825 Ghz frequency bands, the DualNet MPCI module is said to deliver both improved wireless range—reportedly up to twice the range of existing internal antennas—and improved performance to compact products, such as notebook computers, while allowing cross-compatibility between the widely deployed 802.11b protocol and the faster, newer 802.11a protocol. Other claims made for the antenna include: improved sensitivity in low signal environments; and the use of two isolated antennas (isolation greater than or equal to 15 dB) to achieve greater spatial diversity. The antenna comes with is own ground plane and connector cables. More details are available from ETHERTRONICS, San Diego, CA. (858) 550-3820.
