The company's Gbit Ethernet VME64x backplane is designed to meet the VITA 31.1 standard, which specifies a standard method for deploying an Ethernet switch fabric in a VME64x backplane without cables and using standard backplane pinouts. The backplane provides 21 slots with two VITA 31.1 fabric slots and 19 VITA 31.1 node slots. Custom configurations from two to 21 slots are also available. Node cards can each support full-duplex connections up to 2 Gb/s to each fabric card. As an example, for a system with two fabric cards, total bandwidth would be up to 76 Gb/s.
