This new magnetic sensor measures position and rotation of both non-ferrous and ferrous metals alike. The depth of detection can be varied by changing the excitation frequency. High resolution is achieved in short sensing applications. The magnetic sensor’s sensing distance of 0 to 1 mm makes it suitable for use in close-up detection applications while the high resolution makes it suitable for imaging. Operating temperature is 0°C to 60°C. The magnetic sensor is said to be ideal for micro-magnetism applications, where lower levels of change in magnetism are required, such as in GPSs and in vending machine coin detection.
