Groomed for cable TV set-top boxes, the STV0498 front end supports triple QAM, the DOCSIS 2.0 standard, and is compatible with the DOCSIS 3.0 channel-bonding scheme. It handles downstream channel bonding, based on the DOCSIS 3.0 spec, and offers aggregate DOCSIS downstream rates up to 120 Mb/s. The device integrates an ST40 CPU with 450-DMIPS capability and three QAM demodulators with forward error correction. It also supports both IPv4 and the next-generation IPv6. Other integrated features include Ethernet and USB interfaces. Available in a 386-pin package with a 100-pin TQFP mixed-signal transceiver, price for the pair is $16 each/10,000.
