Thief River Falls, Minn. and San Jose, Calif.: Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp. and Amulet Technologies signed a global distribution agreement that covers more than 140 countries. Amulet Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company, specialises in ICs and firmware that are used to drive LCDs.

With its Graphical Operating System in Silicon, Amulet gives OEMs a cost-effective method for improving the user experience of their electronic devices with visually appealing, interactive user interfaces. The Amulet chip is a combination LCD controller, dedicated microprocessor, and graphics library that offloads the burden of powering the GUI from the host embedded processor.

“The addition of Amulet to our line card further demonstrates Digi-Key’s commitment to offer our customers world-class, innovative products,” says Mark Larson, Digi-Key president and COO.
