Display Sockets Mount LEDs At 90° Angles

Feb. 1, 2000

Meeting the requirements of rack-mount-equipment designs, two new types of display sockets allow LED displays to be mounted at 90° angles. One type of socket will accept seven-segment displays in a 10-pin DIP package. The other type socket accepts dot-matrix displays having a 20-pin quad-in-line package with its leads on a 2.5-mm grid. Both sockets have an integrated platform that ensures stability of the display. A high-temperature insulator material permits all forms of wave and reflow soldering. The socket pins incorporate beryllium copper spring contacts.
