Providing 10 mcd of brightness and drawing only 2 mA of current versus as much as 50 mA for standard devices, this new line of low-current LED assemblies is expected to find wide use in portable applications, including new low-power-dissipating, handheld, battery-operated products. The new LEDs come in a wide range of colors, from 550 green to 700 red, with diffused, tinted, or water-clear lenses to meet the needs of a broad range of display applications. The LEDs are available in a wide variety of vertical and 90° assemblies, including T-3/4 (2 mm), T-1 (3 mm) and T-1-3/4 (5 mm) through-hole versions and T-1 and T-1-3/4 SMT packages. Over 200 elevations and more than 10 center line options are also offered. Styles include single, bi-level, tri-level and quad-level 90° stations available as individual units or ganged together in arrays of up to 12 stations. Housings are made from 94V-0 rated materials that can withstand temperatures typically associated with wave soldering operations.
