Designed to provide network-grade power protection for systems such as servers, the IBP Rack UPSs range from 1 to 3 kVA in capacity and in sizes starting at 1U. They boast of automatic voltage regulation without going to battery and support for Windows 95/98/ME/NT and Novell Netware and UNIX and LINUX software. The first member of the line, the IBP 1000, protects multiple servers in 1U of rack space. The UPSs are also said to offer optimized battery management (OBM) with microprocessor-controlled battery discharge and recharge that extends battery life and provides an early warning detection of battery failure. Other features include EMI/RFI filtering and multiple levels of protection. Power management software, included free with the UPSs, features automated operating system shutdown and reboot, broadcast and user notification of power status, real-time graphical power quality display, printable power events log, UPS testing, and the ability to schedule system shutdown and reboot.
