Model-Based Design Tool Suite Adds Features

The company has released the 2005.3 version of AccelChip DSP Synthesis and AccelWare intellectual property (IP) toolkits for model-based design of digital signal processing applications. New to the DSP Synthesis tool is a feature that allows for pipe-line insertion to increase design performance while lowering chip power. Enhancements have also been added to the tool’s automated floating-point to fixed-point conversion utility, which claims to improve fixed-point simulation performance up to 100%. New and enhanced AccelWare cores include DSP cores that directly implement matrix operations in markets such as communications, signal intelligence, electronic warfare, radar, and sonar. In addition, updates have been made to all third-party tool integrations to ensure interoperability. Version 2005.3 is shipping now; current customers with support contracts will receive the new release at no additional fee. AccelChip Inc., Milpitas, CA. (971) 204-0150.
