Enlarging the company’s military-grade FPGA family are high-density ProASIC3 and ProASIC3EL devices offering low power and high reliability for thermally-challenged and space-constrained applications. Operating across the military temperature range from -55°C to +125°C and ranging in density from 600,000 to three-million system gates, the latest devices are immune to neutron-induced configuration upsets. According to the company, the FPGA’s lower power, increased gate density, and improved performance eliminate the higher-power consumption and failure risks associated with SRAM-based FPGAs. The three-million gate A3PE3000L consumes 310 mW at 100 MHz and 2.75 mW in static mode and both ProASIC3 and ProASIC3L FPGAs deliver 64-bit, 66-MHz PCI performance. The A3P1000-PQ208M and A3P1000-FG144M are qualified and shipping now while the remaining devices will appear by the end of the year. All devices come in military-temperature plastic packages plus standard and dash-1 speed grades will be available for most devices. ACTEL CORP., Mountain View, CA. (888) 992-2835.
