Open-collector outputs and isolated inputs address distributed control
The SeaI/O-530 and SeaI/O-540 DAQ Modules integrate open-collector outputs and optically isolated inputs for distributed control. Ordering options allow control from a host device via wireless, Ethernet, RS-485, USB, or RS-232. Up to 247 modules can be daisy chained.
The SeaI/O-540’s 32 open-collector outputs control common industrial peripherals, and each output circuit includes a flyback diode for protection when interfacing highly inductive loads. The SeaI/O-530 combines 16 optically isolated inputs with 16 open collector outputs. The nonpolarized inputs monitor 5 to 30 VDC. For connecting I/O, removable terminal blocks are standard on both modules.
The digital modules are housed in a rugged metal enclosure; however, board-only versions also are available. Both units are powered from a 9- to 30-VDC source. Status LEDs indicate communications, fault, and power.
