Based on the second generation of AMD Embedded G-Series SOC processors, congatec’s latest Qseven and COM Express modules offer higher performance and lower power draw thanks to an enhanced Jaguar+ CPU architecture and AMD RadeonT 8000 graphics core. Graphics engine speed now clocks at 800 MHz, while the DDR3 interface increased up to 1866 Mtransfers/s. To ensure appropriate processor overclocking, the G-Series includes “Core Boost Frequency.” In the Qseven standard, congatec supports two new processors from the AMD Embedded G-Series SOC platform: the dual-core AMD GX-212JC 1.2-GHz processor with 1.4-GHz boost frequency (1-Mbyte L2 cache) and 6-W TDP; and the quad-core AMD GX-412HC 1.2-GHz processor with 1.6-GHz boost frequency (2-Mbyte L2 cache) and 7-W TDP. For the COM Express Compact Type 6 standard, there’s also the quad-core AMD GX-424CC 2.4-GHz processor (2-Mbyte L2 cache) with 25-W TDP. AMD RadeonT graphics supports DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.2, and Open CL 1.2. Graphics interfaces include LVDS, DisplayPort 1.2, and DVI/HDMI 1.4a. Depending on the design, the modules come with up to 4 Gbytes of error-correction code (ECC) DDR3L RAM. Qseven modules support one USB 3.0 SuperSpeed port, and five USB 2.0 ports; COM Express modules offer two USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and eight USB 2.0 ports. Both provide up to four PCI Express x1 Gen 2 lanes, two SATA 3-Gbit ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
