A pair of test equipment manufacturers is offering free information on test procedures and instruments for testing of WiMAX and WiFi systems:

Agilent Technologies is offering a wall poster and an eight-page brochure on WiMAX. The poster is a reference aid to help designers understand the evolving communications standard by describing details of contrasting fixed and mobile WiMAX technologies. Designers can order the poster (5989-5936EN) at www.agilent.com/find/wimaxposter. The full-color brochure describes the company’s portfolio of design and test solutions for WiMAX, which cover the entire life cycle from R&D, design verification, and pre-conformance to conformance, manufacturing, and installation and maintenance. It’s available at www.agilent.com/find/wimax.

Berkeley Varitronics Systems Inc. has created a DVD demonstrating the use of wireless test transmitters, receivers, and software for the deployment of the 2.5- to 2.7-GHz and 3.4- to 3.6-GHz WiMAX standards. The DVD is an NTSC video running about 50 min. It features the Gator Class A stimulus transmitter, Coyote dual-modular receiver system, and Sieve data conversion software.
