SMT Sampling Phase Detectors Feature Unique Hybrid Assembly

March 1, 2002

Using a unique hybrid assembly design, the SPD1101-11 (low drive), SPD1102-111 (medium drive), and SPD1103-111 (high drive) surface-mount sampling phase detectors are said to improve throughput and repeatability at a lower cost than comparable solutions. The detectors are designed for use in VSAT and LMDS applications that operate in the 19 GHz to 22 GHz frequency range. They incorporate a pair Schottky diodes in series, a step recovery diode, and two blocking chip capacitors. In addition, the surface-mount package accommodates automated assembly techniques. Pricing is $10 each/1,000. ALPHA INDUSTRIES INC., Haverhill, MA. (978) 247-7700.
