Talking About the IoT's Future
What you'll learn:
- Where the current IoT marketplace stands.
- Development considerations for the next generation of solutions.
The world's infrastructure is evolving from being based on aging machines largely designed several generations ago to one augmented with advanced systems for the information age. The IoT enables intelligent machines to provide advanced functionality to society, but it isn’t easy to get there from here.
Key aspects of development include the importance of creating tools that empower others, the role of the market ecosystems in driving adoption, and the challenges in the infrastructure needed to bring connected technologies to the market.
In this podcast, we talk to Alistair Fulton, CEO of IoT Labs (among a bunch of other things). Alistair is an industry expert with over two decades of experience in the IoT marketplace. His previous roles include Semtech's IoT division, accelerating LoRaWAN development, and driving product management and technology for Hitachi's Lumada Industrial IoT platform.
Alistair also led the incubation of Microsoft's IoT business and supported the growth of the Azure IoT developer ecosystem by providing tools to build, deploy, and manage applications for the IoT across multiple technologies and platforms.
