Efficient Power Conversion’s CEO, Alex Lidow, talks about GaN adoption and EPC’s products.

This is part of the 2022 Electronic Design Forecast issue. You can also check out more TechXchange Talks videos.

I talked with the CEO of Efficient Power Conversion (EPC), Alex Lidow, about the future of gallium nitride (GaN) and its use in power supplies and other technologies. Performance is up while size is down, allowing power modules to shrink in size (Fig. 1)

We also talked about some of the latest development kits from EPC (Fig. 2). EPC takes a modular approach by providing demo boards that can plug into a controller board with different host processors.
