Seven additions to the STEALTH II series fast-recovery rectifiers feature fast reverse recovery and soft recovery characteristics that forecast reduced MOSFET switching losses and EMI in continuous-current-mode, power factor correction designs. They reportedly exhibit a low stored charge and soft recovery that minimize ringing and electrical noise in the power switching circuit, which also reduces overall EMI. They also eliminate the need to use a snubber circuit and can reduce the size of the EMI filter. The rectifiers employ lead-free terminals and meet requirements for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020 for lead-free reflow. Prices for the FFP04S60S through FFH30S60S range from $0.48 to $1.81 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
