Suiting up for automotive motion control applications, the IR2301 and IR2302 high-voltage gate drivers feature an extended supply voltage range for safe operation from 5V to 600V. An under-voltage lockout circuit switches off the devices' two outputs when supply voltage dips below 4.7V and releases the outputs when voltage exceeds 5V. Typical integrated hysteresis is 0.3V, and both ICs are compatible with 3.3V, 5V and 15V input logic. Via two CMOS/LSTTL-compatible inputs, the IR2301 provides independent control of the high- and low-side outputs and supports switching frequencies up to 100 kHz. The outputs are in phase with the inputs. The IR2302 employs cross-conduction prevention logic that automatically prevents MOSFET or IGBT short-circuits in the H-bridge legs when changing motor direction. In either 8-pin DIP or SO-8 packages, IR2301 and IR2302 cost $1 and $1.02 each/10,000, respectively. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER CORP., El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7105.
