The 6801 and 6251 families of zero insertion force, vertical-mount secure-locking FFC/FPC connectors vie for employment in automotive, industrial, and commercial markets. The 6801 Series connector features a one-stage action that facilitates automated assembly. Featuring a retention force of 70N, the connector offers optional shortened contacts that allow for automated testing. The 0.5-mm pitch connectors can handle a FPC/FFC thickness of 0.3 mm ±0.05 mm and are rated at 0.5A/pin at 50 Vrms. Targeting more commercially-sensitive applications, the 6251 Series connectors are configured for vertical mount and feature a flip lid. The connectors are available in 10-, 30-, 40-, 45-, 50-, 60-, and 64-way way versions, all with gold plating. AVX CORP., Fountain Inn, SC. (864) 228-3421.
