More vendors are moving their development platforms onto Linux as the open-source operating system's popularity continues to rise.
Green Hills Software announced that its Multi Integrated Development Environment is now available for Embedded Linux. Multi For Linux supports the GNU toolset and brings the Multi debugger to embedded Linux developers. The package supports MontaVista Linux and RTLinux. It also handles Green Hills C, C++, and EC++ compilers. Pricing of Multi For Linux starts at $5900.
Tensilica has migrated the full suite of its tools for configuration and development of the Xtensa architecture system-on-a-chip to Linux. The tool suite runs on Red Hat Linux 7.3 and is available in conjunction with the licensing of Tensilica's Xtensa processor.
