Entering the market as the first product to integrate system-level wireless signal sources and standards measurements within Cadence Design System's Virtuoso platform, the RF Design Environment (RFDE) promises to accelerate wireless-product development. Users can develop test benches early in the development cycle and export them from the company's Advanced Design System (ADS) into RFDE. RFIC designers can then access the test benches from within the Cadence analog and mixed-signal design flow framework to verify their circuit designs. Additionally, pre-configured test benches are available as an option that provide parameterized sources and measurements to address standards such as WLAN, 3GPP, and TD-SCDMA. The RFDE test benches employ the company's Circuit Envelope, Ptolemy, and Automatic Verification Modeling simulation technologies and Connection Manager allows users to download data from RFDE to external test instruments. Available in January 2004, yearly subscription prices start at $24,000. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Palo Alto, CA. (800) 452-4844 ext 7851.
